Program Abstract

Many teachers seek greater leadership responsibilities and want to develop a stronger voice in science and STEM education discussions and issues. Veteran teachers want to guide new teachers without leaving the classroom, develop as a leader in the profession, and create partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders with the goal of improving K-12 STEM education. This web seminar included NSTA/NCTM STEM Teacher Ambassadors and PAEMST winners who discussed why teacher leaders are important, how they became teacher leaders, and why the “teacher voice” and advocacy and outreach is critical to education issues both inside and outside the classroom.
